NSW Health Mental Health Youth Advisory Group

NSW Health established its first Mental Health Youth Advisory Group in 2023 to ensure young people have a voice in shaping child and youth mental health services across the state.

The Mental Health Advisory Group (MHYAG) brings together a diverse range of young people aged 16–24 years from across NSW who have lived experience with mental health challenges and are passionate about improving the mental health and wellbeing of children and young people.

The group includes representation from:

  • First Nations young people
  • Young people living with disability
  • Young people from diverse cultural groups
  • Young people who identify as LGBTIQA+
  • Young people from regional and rural NSW

Opportunities to join the Mental Health Youth Advisory Group

We're inviting young people aged 16–24 years who live in NSW to apply for this exciting opportunity to be part of the Mental Health Youth Advisory Group and help shape mental health services for children and young people.

In-person meetings are held in Sydney, with travel support available if required.

This is a paid opportunity, with remuneration provided in line with the Consumer, Carer and Community Member Remuneration Guidelines.
