Endoscopy

​​​​​​​The Net Zero Hubs (2024-2027) is an Australian-first program establishing multi-disciplinary teams to lead decarbonisation activities in clinical carbon hotspots across NSW Health. We know that more than half of health’s carbon footprint is from clinical care. 

Endoscopy services are recognised as a key emission hotspot. Based at South Western Sydney Local Health District (SWSLHD), the Net Zero Endoscopy Hub is delivering decarbonisation activities to support the transition to a high-quality, low-carbon and climate resilient health​ system. The Net Zero Endoscopy Hub is led by Dr Miriam Levy, Dr Shirin Salimi, Shani George and Joseph Pipicella and its work is aligned with the Gastroenterological Society of Australia's Seven Steps to Sustainable Endoscopy​​​.
