Attention to detail is important

Are you applying for a GradStart nurse or midwife job? If you are completing your studies and expect to register as a nurse, apply to the new graduate nurse position. If you apply to the wrong job by mistake, withdraw your application, even if it is incomplete, before applying to the other job.

If you are a dual registrant you can apply to both jobs. Contact the Nursing and Midwifery Office before applications open via MOH-GradStart@health.nsw.gov.au.

Select a starting date when your degree is finished and you have your registration with AHPRA. For example, if you complete your course and gain AHPRA registration in January 2025, you are available to start employment from January 2025 onwards.

Take care to enter your personal details correctly. This includes the first and last name you are known by.

Existing NSW Health employees can change personal information through StaffLink. External applicants can also do so by updating your general profile on NSW Health Careers.

Provide a valid email address and mobile number

Email and SMS are the main way employers will contact you during the recruitment process. Employers may continue to contact you via email or SMS throughout 2024 and into 2025.

Provide a valid email address - you will need to access the email after you finish studying. Hotmail and @live.com.au email addresses are blocked by some employers. It is strongly recommended that you supply an alternative email address.

Texts will be sent from NSWHCareers.

If you think you may have missed any emails, contact the GradStart Coordinator from your first preference location. For example you didn't receive an invitation to interview and/or recruitment outcome information.

Submitting your application

Make sure you submit your application. Complete each section of the application and submit the completed application prior to recruitment closing. Once submitted, you will receive an email confirmation of your completed application.

You are encouraged to save this email for your own records.

Editing your application

You can edit your online application as many times as you like until applications close at 11:59 pm Monday 1 July 2024.

To edit your application, go to NSW Health Careers where you first applied to GradStart and login to MyApplications.

Once applications close, you will be able to view your application but you can't edit information or change your preferences.
