Certain sections of the Poisons and Therapeutic Goods Act and certain clauses of the Poisons and Therapeutic Goods Regulation have provision for the Minister for Health or the Secretary of Health to issue an order, approval or exemption.
Usually, these have the effect of permitting certain activities which the legislation would otherwise prohibit. In other cases they establish certain protocols or standards for activities envisaged by the legislation. In some cases the legislation requires the order, approval or exemption to be published in the NSW Government Gazette. Listed here are some recently issued orders and exemptions which are of particular interest to the public. This list is not exhaustive.
