The third meeting of the Regional Health Ministerial Advisory Panel was held on 28 October 2022 and was chaired by Dr Richard Colbran, Chief Executive Officer of NSW Rural Doctors Network.

The Panel provided input into the draft Regional Health Plan particularly around the priorities of keeping people healthy and well through prevention, intervention and education; keeping communities informed and engaged; expanding integration of care across the sector and harnessing and evaluating innovation to support a sustainable health system.

The Panel also heard from Megan Callinan CEO of Marathon Health who was representing the Regional NSW Primary Health Collective, a group of non-government primary health organisations. Ms Callinan shared insights on key challenges for regional health and potential solutions.

Other presentations from the non-government and health sector will be included in future meetings to ensure the Panel provides well-informed and evidence-based advice.

The next meeting of the Panel will be held on 18 November 2022.
