NSW Regional Health Strategic Plan 2022-2032
Rural and remote life in NSW has so much to offer, these communities rely on NSW Health to bring essential care closer to home. Help make that happen and access a variety of roles, locations and career development opportunities.
NSW Health offers a pathway for junior doctors to become rural generalists in regional locations, as well as travel and work opportunities to districts across NSW through our Deployment Program.

NSW Health provides services and support schemes that help people who are isolated or live in remote areas.
NSW residents living in remote areas who must travel for healthcare can get support through the Isolated Patients Travel and Accommodation Assistance Scheme (IPTAAS).
IPTAAS assists with travel of more than 100km one way, or 200km a week to see the same health service for specialised treatment that is not locally available. Read the IPTAAS Baseline Monitoring and Evaluation Summary Report which includes key findings, patient feedback and recommendations to improve the scheme and future reports.
Older residents can access integrated aged and health care through Multi-Purpose Services (MPS).
The MPS program delivers flexible, community-based services that are tailored to helps residents stay close with family and friends.
