Co-occurring mental health conditions in AOD treatment settings

​​​​​​​NSW Health has partnered with the University of Sydney, Matilda Centre for Research in Mental Health and Substance Use ​to deliver a series of comprehensive skills-based training workshops designed to build knowledge, confidence and skills in responding effectively to people with co-occurring mental health conditions in alcohol and other drug (AOD) treatment settings.

This training will cover a range of co-occurring mental health conditions, screening, assessment, motivational enhancement, cognitive and behavioural approaches. This skills based course will be held over three and a half days.

This training program was developed to align the Australian Guidelines on managing co-occurring alcohol and other drug and mental health conditions in alcohol and other drug treatment settings.

  • 30 June - 3 July 2025 -  Parramatta​ 

Eligibility

This training is fully funded by NSW Health for the alcohol and other drugs workforce in NSW and include people working in non-government services, NSW Health and Aboriginal Community Controlled Organisations. There may be some availability for people working in related sectors.
