Perinatal data

​​Perinatal data refers to data collected around the time of birth, and includes information on mothers and their babies.

This data can be used to report on a range of questions, such as:

  • number of births in NSW (or per hospital or local health district)
  • average birth weight of babies
  • characteristics of newborn babies
  • causes of death for newborn babies.
