COVID-19 in NSW

  • 10,043 total new positive tests reported in last 24 hours
  • 4,018 positive PCR tests reported in last 24 hours
  • 6,025 positive Rapid Antigen Tests (RATs) reported in last 24 hours
  • 25 deaths reported in last 24 hours

Last 24 hours refers to tests reported from 4pm 7 August to 4pm 8 August, 2022. There may be some cases included in these numbers where people have reported positive RATs on multiple days and/or where people have also had a positive PCR test during the same reporting period. The 25 deaths notified to NSW Health in the past 24 hours includes 8 deaths notified through the NSW Registry of Births Deaths and Marriages. COVID-19 related deaths are notified to NSW Health from a range of sources and not all deaths reported by NSW Health occurred in the week in which they are reported as there is sometimes a delay between a death occurring and it being notified to NSW Health.

COVID-19 vaccination in NSW

  • 69.2% of people have had three doses*
  • 95.3% of people 16 and over have had two doses
  • 78.6% of people 12 to 15 have had two doses
  • 49.7% of people 5 to 11 have had one dose

*Includes both immunocompromised people who have received a third dose and all eligible people who have received a booster.
