Transcript of Northern Cluster Hospital Acquired Complications Falls Project - Southern NSW Local Health District

Denis Thomas: I’d like to acknowledge the traditional custodians of the land on which we meet today, the Gundangara people, and pay my respects to elders past, present and future.

Lauren Hogan: The main aim of our project was to reduce hospital acquired complications, which are falls resulting in serious injury.

We also wanted to use local clinicians to determine whether this would be effective in future projects.

Niccola Follett: We’ve seen a 25 per cent reduction in falls resulting in serious injury in the 12 months.

It’s been fabulous to see some of our wards going more than 400 days without a fall resulting in serious injury.
