Dr John Ferguson: I’d like to acknowledge the traditional owners of the land on which we’re meeting today, the Awabakal people, and pay my respects to eld​ers past and present.

I head up a large infection prevention service that essentially is highly collaborative.

We interact with all sorts of clinicians and our role is to really embed systems of care that protect patients and healthcare staff from infection.

Hunter New England has been at the forefront of infection control in the state and I think we’ve got runs on the board around protecting staff and patients from infection, with good systems of care. ​​​
