Baby Bundle

Welcome to parenthood

Congratulations on your new baby.

Bringing your newborn home is a special time, full of love, joy, and so many firsts.

To help you get started, the NSW Government gifts every NSW baby a Baby Bundle. It's a free bag with helpful items to support your baby's health and development.

Since it began in January 2019, over half a million Baby Bundles have been given to families across NSW.

What's inside the Baby Bundle

The bag has a pocket to fit your baby's Blue Book.

Inside, you'll find useful things to help care for your baby and support their health and development:

Each bag has about $329 worth of items. All items meet Australian safety standards, so you can feel confident using them. Most items come from small and medium Australian-owned businesses, so it also supports local companies.

What's in the bundle might change from time to time.

Getting a Baby Bundle

Please note: As we transition to the new Baby Bundle bag, some families may still receive the previous version depending on stock levels and availability at each hospital.

Both bags are packed with great essentials, so you'll be well supported either way. Thank you for your understanding.

You'll usually get a Baby Bundle before you leave the hospital after your baby is born.

If your baby wasn't born in a hospital, or in a publicly funded homebirth program, you can get a Baby Bundle after you register the birth with NSW Births, Deaths and Marriages.

Every baby born in NSW gets their own bundle. If you have twins or more, you'll get one bundle for each baby.

Adoptive or foster parents can get a Baby Bundle too, if your baby is under 3 months old and lives in NSW.

If your baby was born in another state or overseas, but you live in NSW, we'll send a Baby Bundle to your NSW address for free.

You don't have to take a Baby Bundle if you don't want one.
