Every person in our community deserves dignity, safety, respect, kindness, and to be themselves.

NSW Health is firmly committed to celebrating and strengthening diversity, inclusion and belonging in our health system.

NSW Health has listened to the voices, experiences and insights of lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, intersex, queer and people of other diverse sexualities, gender identities and variations in sex characteristics (LGBTIQ+), to understand the health outcomes that matter to them. In response, the landmark NSW LGBTIQ+ Health Strategy was developed to ensure a safe, welcoming, and inclusive health system in NSW.

A range of helpful resources for health professionals and LGBTIQ+ communities are available to support the strategy’s implementation and improvements to health service access, health literacy and healthcare experiences for LGBTIQ+ people in NSW.
