The Framework for the Specialist Trans and Gender Diverse Health Service for People Under 25 Years provides guidance to NSW local health districts and speciality health networks on how evidence-based gender affirming health care for trans and gender diverse young people will be delivered through the Specialist Trans and Gender Diverse Health Service.
The framework will also guide treatment and care decisions by NSW Health clinicians, private clinicians, General Practitioners and non-government organisations, as well as trans and gender diverse people under 25 years and their families and carers.
Please note - since the publication of this document, further guidance has been released regarding the consent requirements for gender affirming treatment for young people under 18. Please refer to Section 8.12. of the Consent to Medical and Healthcare Treatment Manual.
