Glebe Family Medical Practice was the first practice from Central and Eastern Sydney Primary Health Network (CESPHN) to participate in the Lumos program. Dr Charlotte Hespe, a GP at this practice and previous Chair of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners (RACGP) NSW & ACT, shares why her practice participates:
Privacy and security are at the heart of Lumos. This includes the encoding of all patient data before leaving a general practice and linkage with Privacy Preserving Record Linkage. For more information, see Transparency and Accountability.

The GP information fact sheet provides an overview for general practice, general practitioners and allied health professions.
About the general practice report
The report provides a unique system-wide view of the hospital services your patients access and their outcomes. It allows you to compare the journeys of your patients with those from other practices participating in Lumos. This can help you to understand more about the experience of your patients and may present opportunities for review or action at your practice.
By participating in Lumos, your practice's data contributes valuable information about patient journeys across the healthcare system in NSW.
Each Lumos-participating practice receives a report in this format. Check out the Sample Practice Report to get an idea of what your next report may look like. Interpretation of these reports is affected by your practice's patient demographics, service offerings and other factors.
If you are a general practitioner or practice manager and would like more information about the Lumos program, including how to participate, please contact your Primary Health Network (PHN):
