Conditions of entry

Eligibility

• Nominees (individuals or teams) must be employees of NSW Health.
• These awards celebrate those working in nursing and midwifery roles by recognising excellence in nursing and midwifery practice within the NSW public health system.

Nomination limits

• Each local health district (LHD), specialty network (SN), and NSW Ambulance may nominate:
• One individual per applicable category (excluding Healing Heart categories), and
• One team for the Team of the Year award.

Nomination process

• Nominations (excluding Healing Heart consumer and colleague awards) must be coordinated through identified nomination coordinators for each LHD/SN and NSW Ambulance.
• Final endorsement must be provided by the relevant Director of Nursing and Midwifery.
• Colleague-nominated Healing Heart awards are submitted directly via the nomination portal.

Previous finalists and winners

• Previous finalists are ineligible for nomination in the same or similar category for 3 years.
• Previous winners are not eligible for nomination in the same or similar category.

Multiple nominations

Individuals may only be nominated in one category per year, except where they are part of a nominated team.

Submission requirements

• Only online nominations submitted via the official nomination portal will be accepted.
• Nominations must be complete, including full contact details for both the nominator and nominee.
• Incomplete nominations will not be followed up and will not be considered.

Judging

All judging decisions are final, and no correspondence will be entered into.

Privacy

• Personal information collected through the nomination process will be used solely for assessing and judging nominations for the NSW Excellence in Nursing and Midwifery Awards.

Healing Heart awards

• Consumer-nominated
• Open to consumers of care in NSW public health facilities, including patients, clients, carers, and support persons.
• Nominees will be advised of the consumer nominator.
• Nominations must include full contact details, and the date care was provided.
• Colleague-nominated
• Open to peers working within NSW public health facilities, including nurses, midwives, managers, medical, allied health, administrative, and support staff.
• Nominees will be advised of the colleague nominator.
• Nominations must include full contact details and the date of experience.
