Nominations for the Healing Heart Awards are now open until 27 June 2021

The NSW Health Excellence in Nursing and Midwifery awards acknowledge the passion, dedication and contributions that nurses and midwives have on the health outcomes of patients, women and families across NSW. The nomination process and awards format will keep the changes introduced last year.

In 2021 the awards will include six local health district and specialty network-nominated awards, one consumer-nominated Healing Heart award and one colleague-nominated Healing Heart award.

Healing Heart Awards

Healing Heart Award – Consumer nominated

We invite patients, families and carers to recognise an outstanding nurse or midwife for a Healing Heart Award Consumer nominated. This award acknowledges a nurse or midwife who consistently provides extraordinary safe, quality and compassionate care to patients and women.

Healing Heart Award - Colleague nominated (new Award)

This year we are also inviting NSW Health staff to nominate a nursing or midwifery colleague for a Healing Heart Award Colleague nominated. This award acknowledges their commitment to workplace culture, improving the patient /woman's experience and providing safe and quality care.

All other categories will be nominated and entered by local health districts and specialty networks and will not be accepted here.

We encourage NSW Health staff to seek information about your local processes to recognise and celebrate outstanding contributions of your colleagues for all other awards. We look forward to reading your stories and sharing your appreciation.
