The NSW Government released the independent Review of seclusion, restraint and observation of consumers with a mental illness in NSW Health facilities by the state’s Chief Psychiatrist, Dr Murray Wright, and a panel of five mental health experts.
This was a whole of system review, with opportunities for written submissions and consultation workshops where people could share their stories.

It is with great sadness that we learnt of the passing of Jackie Crowe on 21 October 2017.
We acknowledge the commitment and passion Jackie brought to the review of seclusion, restraint and observation. Her contribution was invaluable.
Jackie’s dedication to the consumer voice was unwavering and her energy was relentless. The team will miss her infectious laugh, compassion and clarity of thought.
Our thoughts are with her family and friends at this time.
