The Government Information (Public Access) Act 2009 (GIPA Act) creates rights to information that are designed to meet community expectations of more open and transparent government and encourages government agencies to proactively release government information. On this page, you can find out how to access information held by the Single Digital Patient Record Implementation Authority (SDPRIA).

The SDPRIA has been established to lead the implementation of the Single Digital Patient Record (SDPR). It is focused on a whole-of-health, collaborative approach, ensuring the program benefits from the strengths of NSW Health. It is accountable for achieving efficiency and maximum value from the resources available, and ultimately delivering SDPR while ensuring patients and people remain at the core of its delivery.
The SDPR program is delivering a statewide integrated Electronic Medical Record (eMR), Patient Administration System (PAS) and Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) to 228 public hospitals, 600+ community health centres, 60 pathology laboratories and 150+ pathology collection centres, replacing several existing systems that are widely used across NSW Health services.
The SDPR meets strict government standards for data protection. NSW Health has policies and procedures in place, which provide that patient records must only be accessed, when there is a lawful reason to do so. You can feel confident knowing your privacy is protected every step of the way.
The SDPRIA is committed to making government information publicly available wherever possible. In accordance with the GIPA Act, we proactively publish information about our functions, policies, operations and governance. Information that is publicly available can be accessed through this website or by contacting the SDPRIA's Right to Information Officer. Additional information may be made available through proactive release, informal release or formal access applications under the GIPA Act.

Information held by the SDPRIA may include:
Health and medical records held by public health facilities in NSW, such as your NSW hospital records, are maintained by the NSW Local Health Districts and Speciality Networks. To obtain access to your medical or health records from public health facilities, you will need to contact the relevant Local Health District or Speciality Network.
The SDPRIA has not yet tabled any reports in Parliament. The SDPRIA will publish future reports to parliament on this website.
SDPRIA contracts awarded with a value of more than $150,000 are published on the buy NSW Register of Notices. The register provides information about NSW Government contract awards, standing offers, annual procurement plans and public interest certificates.
The information provided includes details on the name of the contractor and any related company involved in the contract, the start date and duration of the contract, the good and services to be provided under the contract, the amount payable to the contractor, any renegotiation provisions, tender methods if applicable, and any payment provisions for operational or maintenance services under the contract.
The SDPRIA may publish details of information released in response to formal access applications where the information may be of interest to members of the public and where publication is not prevented by statutory considerations under the GIPA Act.
