​NSW Health engaged HealthConnect Consulting to undertake the Horizons Scanning and Scenario Generation workforce planning methodology to identify the roles of the Diversional Therapist, Child Life Therapist, Music Therapist and Art Therapist. While this project brought together four small workforces, each individual workforce is important in their own right. The consultation approached representatives with a range of different view points that identified the challenges and opportunities facing the workforces.
The Diversional Therapy, Child Life Therapy, Musical Therapy and Art Therapy Workforces Horizons Scanning and Scenario Generation Report highlighted both the similarities and differences across the four workforces. It outlined the current state and the opportunities for growth. The reports intent is to be used as a foundation building block to support future workforce planning and the implementation of opportunities to create a fit for purpose workforces for all four professions.
