Patient Transport Service booking requests for patients weighing 120kgs or over are considered bariatric. You must supply the actual weight, not an estimated weight.

In addition, the following measurements (in centimetres) must be provided:

  • height
  • shoulder tip to shoulder tip
  • iliac crest to iliac crest

Add measurements into the "Diagnosis/Transport Comments" field when booking via the Patient Flow Portal.

Tips for measuring

  •  measurements should be taken in a straight line. If possible, measure the person from behind
  •  measure at the widest part of the body
