Areas of concern

There are restrictions for visitors, staff and residents of residential aged care facilities (RACF) located in areas of concern as COVID-19 maybe circulating in the community:

NSW

Areas of increased testing in NSW include:

  • Cumberland City Council
  • Suburbs in the Mount Druitt area - Bidwill, Blackett, Doonside, Dharruk, Emerton, Hebersham, Lethbridge Park, Minchinbury, Mount Druitt, Shalvey, Tregear, Whalan, Wilmot
  • Rooty Hill

Interstate and overseas

Visitors

Restrictions for RACF located in the Areas of Concern Restrictions for RACFs located in Greater Sydney (including Blue Mountains)Restrictions for RACFs located in Regional NSW (including Central Coast and Wollonging)
  • Should be excluded unless they are providing essential care to residents or for compassionate reasons.
  • A maximum of two people can visit each day per resident
  • Different people may visit each day
  • There are no restrictions on the number of visitors a resident can have each day or at any one time.


All visitors must wear a surgical mask whilst in the facility.

Exclude visitors who:

Residents

  • Are not able to have visitors unless the visitor is providing essential care or for compassionate reasons
  • Should avoid leaving the facility except for essential reasons (for example, attending a medical appointment)        
  • Can have a maximum of two visitors each day and may have different visitors each day
  • Can attend outings such as medical appointments, visit locations in the community such as shops and cafes
  • Have no restrictions on the number of visitors they can have each day or at any one time
  • Can leave the facility for outings such as medical appointments or to visit locations in the community such as shops, cafes


At outings and excursions attended by residents ensure that:

  • the event complies with the current Movement and Gathering Public Health Order
  • no one at the event:

Staff

Exclude staff who:

  • have COVID-19 symptoms -  fever (37. 5°C or higher) or symptoms of COVID-19
  • are a close contact of a person with confirmed COVID-19 and are within their self-isolation period
  • have been to any of the locations on the close contact or casual contact list at the times and dates listed, or to any of the contact tracing locations of interest in New Zealand 
  • live in a household with a person who is currently self-isolating
  • are waiting for a COVID-19 test result
