The Aboriginal Grief and Loss Training Project is funded by the Mental Health and Drug & Alcohol Office of NSW Health and delivered by the NSW Institute of Psychiatry. The Project aims to build the capacity of the NSW Aboriginal mental health workforce to support Aboriginal communities in dealing with grief and loss. In order to ensure genuine ownership of the project, extensive consultation has been undertaken with Aboriginal mental health workers about their learning and support needs. An Expert Advisory Group comprised of representatives from the Aboriginal Health and Medical Research Council, The Centre for Rural and Remote Mental Health, the NSW Aboriginal Workforce Program and Western NSW Local Health District meet regularly to guide the project.

If you require further information or would like to participate in the training please contact Megan Wynne-Jones at the Institute of Psychiatry on (02) 9840 3833.
