Never use BBQs or outdoor heaters inside

They make carbon monoxide gas, which can kill without warning. Protect yourself and your family this winter: leave BBQs and outdoor heaters outside.

Some devices make carbon monoxide and should never be used indoors, including outdoor heaters and barbeques, tools with gasoline engines, portable generators and vehicle engines.
Carbon monoxide poisoning often occurs when people use these outdoor devices indoors or in a closed space without enough air flow.
Common symptoms of carbon monoxide poisoning include headache, nausea, vomiting and weakness.
People with more severe poisoning may feel dizzy, faint or lose consciousness, and in some instances, suffer permanent brain injury or death.
